CODE 8  | FEATURE FILM 2019

Following the release of the short film, the actors launched a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo, which raised over $2 million towards getting the film additional funding -- potentially around $14-15 million.

Code 8 is a feature-length film based off of a short film the two actors created back in 2016. That short film -- and by extension the feature -- is set in a world where over 4 percent of the population have special powers, but instead of being treated as heroes those with special abilities are treated as outcasts, forced to live in poverty. The short film follows Robbie's character as he simply tries to earn a basic living, but ultimately comes into conflict with the law simply for being "special".

Set for north american release this year, the feature film is set to premiere in 8 different cities; Vancouver, LA, Toronto, Dallas, Miami, New York and Chicago. Relatively close to announcing London.

THIS IS NOT HAPPENING  | DIGITAL COMEDY SERIES 2015 / 2016

Comedy, robots, stand-up, flamethrowers & cliff jumps all go hand in hand with director Jeff Tomsic’s comedy series This is Not Happening. Jeff envisioned an entirely new angle to his viral series, it was up to us to help him pair the outlandish stories of his comedian lineup with equally fantastic sequences of live action and ridiculous visual effects. We helped create stilled party montages, mid action horror movie tableaus, Thelma and Louise styled cliff jumps, a giant robot chase scenes & only had to mosaic Ari Shaffir’s nether regions twice.

SPECTRUM FILM INSTITUTE THESIS  |  OCADU 2014

A film institute housing an array of technology to addresses the lack of filmmaking resources for students and enthusiasts alike

The city of Toronto accommodates an annual world-renowned film festival (Toronto International Film Festival) that features new and exciting independent films, showcasing new talents in the field. It is however, a great challenge for most amateur filmmakers to begin this journey with limited access to equipment alongside budgetary constraints. This program is housed alongside Polson Street at the waterfront, an existing site that has not been fully developed. Bringing a film institute here will revitalize the area with the overall theme of a creativity hub. The institute will target the different areas of filmmaking including cinematography, special effects, CGI, and animation by providing a range of equipment and spaces. Such equipment includes and is not limited to cameras, lighting, rigs & dolly, sound/audio apparatus, green screening & motion capture studios, as well as post production spaces. The social component is also represented through indoor and outdoor lounging spaces. The institute would therefore be a starting point for many to cultivate their talent and potential, and for others to facilitate, communicateand express their visions for film.

COLOUR FILM: FAMILY HISTORY  |  THINK TANK 2011

Colour Film: Family History was a Think Tank assignment completed in 2011, where we were to explore the depths of our family tree through our own representation. I decided to follow the intriguing journey of my grandmother in her early childhood, and depict her struggles through Hong Kong's experience of the Second World War in a vibrant manner.

The story takes us through a time where famine was a cause of forced migration, in which my grandmother and her father left their village in the mainlands of China to seek better opportunities in the city of Hong Kong. By the time they settled a year later, a turn of events occurred in 1941. The invasion of the Japanese Empire left the both of them running away once again and they fearfully watched their land of opportunity crumble into ashes. My great grandfather eventually died of starvation during the 4 grueling years of the Japanese occupancy, and my grandmother was left alone in the streets by herself. Luckily, she was rescued by the British Army relief division, and was soon adopted by an extremely wealthy family. She got to enjoy the finest things in life during a time of crisis and still reminisces the experience till this very day. Soon after the war was over in 1945, my great grandmother traveled from the village in China to Hong Kong to find my grandmother in the aftermath of the war; surprisingly, they reunited. Her life changed once again when her mother took her back, and her affluent lifestyle reverted back to the average factory worker making firecrackers.

This is part one of her journey; the second half of the animation will be completed in the near future.
